Are you the do it yourself kind of person?
Are you a pay for it and wait kind of person?

I am a do it myself person. I would rather do the research, find the parts, tinker with it myself. I mean to get what I want I need to do the research anyway.

Suppressors, I bought a Gemtech HVT QD in 308. I like it. I wanted a 308, so I got a 308. But Gemtech says a 9mm can will do the trick also for a 300-221.

I have been gel testing bullets. I plan on posting a more detailed post once I finish my testing. The 220gr and 240gr Sierra Match kings tumble making a nice large slice through the gel. It leaves no permanent hole.

A suppressed 45ACP 230gr JHP would be a little louder, but may actually have better terminal effect.

For those of you that don't mind the crack of a super sonic round when shooting suppressed, I have tried fast and light and also mediums. Although I am not finished testing, I think the best terminal performance will come from the mediums.

As far as the hard casts go, forgetaboutit. Suppressors and gas guns don't do well with melted lead and bullet lube.

If you are use to shooting large hogs in the lungs with a 45-70 and watching them drop, you might be disapointed with the little 300-221 in subsonic.
