D.....at the risk of sounding pessimistic...I'm thinking the really easy way to do the .458...Get with Huntingtons or RCBS and buy .458 X 2" dies and headspace off the belt. The .450 Alaskan also comes to mind but thats a rimmed case.
If you are good at building dies the WSM's and the RUMs could be necked down without much issue, but there won't be much shoulder and there will be less volume (believe it or not). I sectioned the WSM,RUM and SOCOM brass and was surprised to see the SOCOM at SOCOM length was the most voluminous.

Why isnt Starline available to the UK? I thought you guys were "friendlies"?
I looked at this and then remembered my gunsmith has a 450 Marlin reamer. The 450 Marlin is basically the 458x2" with a fatter belt. You can buy cheap 450 Marlin dies, cheap 450 Marlin cases and factory ammo. Of course if you don't mind making the cases you can use any H&H based brass to make the 458X2".
