Regardless of how it was originaly built, these parts kits are now no longer firearms of any type. Consider that most parts kits are parts from machineguns, it should be clear that the fact that this used to have 2-grips is a non-issue as long as you build it in a legal way. In the case of an AK-pistol, the BATFE has been clear that their
