Cold Shot
Hey there Sierra One,
Yes you were quite right! After shooting my 300-221 with 240gr matchkings at subsonic speeds through a suppressor I soon found that the first cold shot could be up to 2 inches lower from the following shots. This seems to be consistent enough to allow for........but should you have too???
I haven't chronograped the loads to check first shot velocity from the second to see how much different. Have you experienced these wayward first shots with all the calibres yourv'e tried with subsonics? Have you had better success with the 7.62 x 39? What brand of suppressor are you using?
Questions....questions..questions....all good fun experimently with these things.
