Fixed it
Thanks for all the help. I got a new ejector from brownells along with a wolff extra power spring. I started filing the bottom of the notch on the ejector with a hand file taking a little material off each time. After about 5 or 6 tries I got it to eject the spent cartridge and not drop it.
Took it to the range this weekend and it works perfectly.
