I tried my jig for the first time today and found out that it would bend the flat correctly if the opening was about 1.340" AND the lips that contacted and bent the flat were slightly rounded to "help" the flat get started. I made my bottom part out of flat stock. The top edges were fairly sharp, so they scraped the flat a little when going in. I'll round the top edges a little and try another one. I imagine you won't have this problem with angle iron, since the edges are already rounded.
If I have to modify this measurement a little, I'll let everyone know.
