Phrobis M11 EOD knife?

This all startd with a question:

I just purchased a Phrobis III M9 Bayonet (4-lines).

It has the M11 guard, pommel, and tool pouch. Can this be an authentic USGI issue or is it a bastardized blade? The scabbard has the dual slots for straps.
Thanks,
CE

I replied that I believed that the M-11 conversion was a later modification to the M9 bayonet and I did not believe that Phrobis made knives in this configuration...

I tried to do a search for more info but there does not seem to be a whole lot of info on this. If anybody can help I wold love to know more info...

As an aside, I just looked at EBAY for an example that might help and is an example of the M11-EOD parts that I assume you are describing:

And here is an example of the M11-EOD tools pouch that I assume you are describing:

Finally, here is a complete LanCay M11-EOD knife kit:

According to the seller on EBAY...

Quote:Tool Pac is the official pack to come with the M11 EOD knife, LanCay is the only manufacturer of the M11 or the Pack.

Which might well be correct as these are parts that I do not remember seeing back 5 to 10 years ago...

Here is an article that describes the EOD conversion...

http://www.usmilitaryknives.com/reject_articles.htm

Read under the heading "The U.S. Military’s New Knife"

This article makes it pretty clear that this is a conversion that started in 1996 by LanCay... hope this helps and thanks for the question as I learned something new today!
