I agree with you, Carlo. I was initially unaware of the variety and number of M9 variations a collector might consider to build a collection. Bill Porter's council & Homer Brett's "Military Knives & Bayonets" book helped greatly to provide some guidance. I finally decided to concentrate on Phrobis/Buck military & commercial patterns. There was great variety here, and they were of the highest quality. However, shortly I modified my original intent and opted to look for military contract examples, trials pieces, and anything for the USMC (which of course includes many M9s of LanCay manufacture. Thus far I have been able to avoid the myriad of multi-colored Lan-Cay commercials, except for a tan, orange, and (yes) the most ugly Air Force blue!
