I’m sure allot of other guns would be the same AK47 comes to mind. I think most after market sears mount in the host gun in a different position than a factory sear that way when removed you can not just install factory parts to make it run full auto.

actually there are some NFA registered AK47 sears. They required "the hole" in the host receiver and those sears who did not have a host (at the time the ATF came down on these) were unregistered. Those that had already been installed into receivers and transferred to individuals were let go. These are "gray but legal" .. I also believe that the host weapon SN was required to be put in the "additional info" block on the registration .. thus marrying the two forever.
