Easy and cheap way to remove mass from the equation is to lighten the buffer like a previous poster suggested. Simple way I've found to do it is to pull the weights and replace with 1/2" dia alum rod available at many hardware stores. Trick is to cut it to lengths like the existing weights and assemble bck in place with the little rubber waffers to reduce bounce.
