RM: I believe the XM9 pommel cap was a standard US M7 which had a stepped hole drilled thru the end to accommodate the Allen screw, securing the pommel to the tang rod. I am sure this is an easy part...

Well, perhaps "overrun" is a bit too vague....
Well, perhaps "overrun" is a bit too vague. Although the total number of Phrobis XM9s produced may be unknown, there were more than the actual number of 55 required by the U.S. Army for competition....
