Can't round my 4x4x6 Walnut
I really want to learn this lathe. I have successfully turned wooden tops, have been practicing for a few weeks on Poplar 6/4 wood. I just made a rolling pin. I wanted to make a larger base...

Wax?
I was watching some YouTube video's on turning tops, bowls etc. and they are putting some kind of wax (while on turning lathe)and then polishing it with a cloth..... I am guessing this is a final...

Can't find info on the internet - help?
New to this - Can you glue wood together to make wood blanks to turn?
and has any of you cut your own blanks on a bandsaw? Thinking about getting into this and the wood seems very expensive....
