I bought 1000 .311sp 123 grain bullets years ago to load in my sks, then the price dropped to about $100 per 1000 delivered. It was cheeper to shoot the mil stuff than reload, so about 5 years ago...

I have tried 10 grains of 5744 and 1680 for right at 1050fps , 16in M1S barell, carbine gas tube, neither load will hold the bolt open on last shot. They will strip a fresh round most of the time....

98 Mauser.
This is the only jacketed bullet I have fired in it with reduced loads. I used it for fox/coyote...

Yes 5 shots groups tell more about a load and a 100 shot group would tell even more. I think the first one is the only to count on. So I'm ok with a 3 shot group.

I have a lot of Unique and have been using 6-6.2 grains in my 17in bolt gun for 175gn and 180gn bulk bullets. It is much quiter than my H110 loads.
