I hope someone will chime in soon with those answers. What length are you looking for? Twist? |

Prefits for Savage? |
I was thinking 20in for barrel length and and I'm not sure sure about twist, I was thinking of trying a 85gr to 100gr bullet some whatever would be the best for that.

I (and others) have only tried 1:10 twists and have been completely satisfied. From a 20 inch barrel 85 gn Nosler BT should be able to be pushed to 2850-2900.
Step up to a 24 inch barrel and you can get about 2900-3000 fps. This is really close to 250-3000 Savage. The Speer 87 gn HotCor has a little more optimum form factor. I will look into the possibility of making barrels that will fit a Savage action. |

Yes reloading dies readily available for the 25-223AR. I can not recommend CH4D however. CH4D made the first set of dies for the first group of users. We then ordered a second group buy and the kept putting us off for a year. When then finally delivered the dies it turned out that they screwed up the neck dimension and the dies are pretty much worthless.
We did come up with a very good solution. Simply buy a 223 REM bushing die (so far we have only tried Redding bushing dies) and change is expander ball to an appropriate size for .257 bullets. You will not need to purchase a bushing just an expander ball. The opening in the ledge that the bushing sits on is what is neck sizing the case. It sizes the case down to 0.263/4 outside diameter (OD) and the Redding Tapered Size Button opens it back up to 0.277 OD. This leaves the finished sized case with a 0.253 inside diameter neck. (plenty of neck tension to hold the bullet). Here are the MidwayUSA part numbers again: Item ID____Description 889635____Redding Tapered Size Button #192 137496____Redding Type S Bushing Full Leng. For seating the bullets I use a 223 seater die. Currently, I do not crimp my loads. If I discover that I need to start crimping dies I would look into the Lee Factory Collet crimping die. |
