chuck sizing

i am building a roll out wheel for my welding truck
i need to know if the jaws on a 8" chuck will expand far
enough out to hold a piece of 12" pipe from the inside of the pipe
or will i have to have a 10" chuck to do this

a rollout wheel is used when you are fabing short pieces of pipe to a flange or a fitting when it is to short to fit in a set of jack stands chuck it up in a rollout wheel then you can just roll it to weld.

Ok now I know we just call them the roller. As far as the chuck i guess
you could shim it on the inside.
