What yall shootn deer with?
Gun season is just around the corner here in SC and my whisper is ready for its 1st trip to the stand. I have had good accuracy with 220gr Serria pro hunters and 180gr Speer soft points. I see alot about Outlaw bullets here. Any recomendations from you whisper deer hunters? I HATE TRACKING DEER! the 30-06 drops em like a rock(most of the time) but im guna try a lil sumthin different this year. O yeah, Im shootn subs, suppressed in an AR, 7in bbl. Thanks yall and good luck in the woods this yr!

I shoot outlaws 225 grain
I shoot outlaws in 225 grain pushed with 8.5 grains of Vit N110. I am shooting out of a 26 inch barrel encore. I recently bought a 10 inch MGM barrel but its in VA and I am still in Uruguay. I get home in 3 weeks and will see what the Chrony says coming out the short barrel. The deer I have shot thru the heart make it two three steps and die. Double lung shots have been running less than 50 yards, laying down and bleeding out so long as you don't chase them. I treat run offs like shot with a bow. They don't go far and die quickly. Plenty of blood to trail. Unfortunately I have never recovered a bullet. I can say the lungs look like strained jellow after the outlaws go through. All my shots have resulted in pass throughs. Two head shots as I just can't help myself when deer stand still at 25 yards, They just fall over dead.

I use the VVN110 in my AR. runs good with the can. 9gr w a 220 pro hunter bout 970 fps. Kinda loud, so is 1680 i think that was 8.5gr w/the 180 Speer. Probally action noise, but they shoot good on paper.

Hornady 220 round nose

I just emaild outlaw bout 100, 240gr
|
Right now there is 4 bullets that I am aware of that will work - not tumble - on deer, Clearwater Custom make 220 and 240 gr. soft nose, Diamondback makes a 220, Lehigh makes an all brass segmented nose with a 17 gr Berger payload up front ( u provide ), and Outlaw. Have seen deer killed with the first 3. All four will get the job done. None are cheap! But just for hunting, worth every penny.....

You get what you pay for with an OUTLAW. Weight=Energy and plenty of penatration not to mention features. All the others are just a weak :frown: attempt at making a subsonic hunting bullet.

Very strong statement! How many deer have you taken with the other 3? Seen? Witnessed? Just because they are different or you are partial to one does not make the others crap. No, they don't all work in ar's. But all are well constructed bullets that do work at sub velocities in bolt and single shots. Now Remington is supposed to be making one for subs in loaded ammo. Now we have a choice, since not all guns like the same bullets.

I haven't used any of the others yet, as long as I can get the Outlaws. I was just pointing out, that if your spending money on costum bullets that cost around a dollar, why not get the one that............Or you could just load a soft point boat tail backwards and hope for the best. Good luck with the others. I doubt Remington will be making that bullet. My bet is Hornady will.
