whats your guess on how much it goes for?

I was looking at one of these at a local militaria show. I held it up to see what it would look like mounted on the wall, and the bayonet promptly fell out of the recessed area in the case. It looked like crap! I quickly opened the case to replace the bayonet in it's place and I noticed there is nothing holding it in. No clips or retainers. Unfortunately there was nobody at the table to ask what the price was. Seeing what show prices have been lately I wouldn't have been suprised to hear some riduclous amount like $300!

There are two elastic loops to hold the bayonet in position; one at the tip of the blade and one that goes around the grip. When properly inserted in the case the bayonet is quite secure.
Placing a value on a item like this is hard. There were not that many made. If someone was trying to assemble a complete collection of all M9s made and needed this one, they might be willing to pay a hefty price for it. Other collectors won't touch a commemorative if you were giving it away. ________ buy vaporizers |
I'm more towards the latter. It's not a "real" bayonet as it was never an issue item.

Look at this!
An identical item was sold for $1,525 on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...lenotsupported More than these numbered Chevron Phrobis M9, anyone can tell why this baby is this expensive......... |
