M9 patent from the US Patent website
Post subject: M9 patent from the US Patent website.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I found that on the Us Patent website http://www.uspto.gov there is the original M9 patented to Phrobis with some nice drawings. From the mainpage, go to "patents" on the left, then "search", "quick search" and put in the form, under "Assignee Name", "Phrobis". Other drawings and text will be available if you put in the search option, under the patent number, the new patent number assigned to Phrobis that is displayed on one side of the Phrobis M9A1 or Phrobis Int'l. I will see if I can extract these to PDF or I will buy PDF copies of these and get them added to the library. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United States Patent 4,821,356 Finn April 18, 1989 Military bayonet and scabbard Abstract A bayonet and scabbard are capable of being pivotally connected to constitute a wire or metal tape cutting implement having a recess shaped to capture the wire or tape before such cutting begins. The bayonet blade has a tang extending into the bayonet handle which is of a yield strength greater than that of the handle but less than that of the bayonet blade. A finger guard is provided with notches adjacent the blade for engaging an edge of the cap of a receptacle for removing the same. Inventors: Finn; Charles A. (Oceanside, CA) Assignee: Phrobis III, Ltd. (Carlsbad, CA) Appl. No.: 025334 Filed: March 13, 1987 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United States Patent 4,690,315 Bianchi September 1, 1987 Universal clip Abstract A universal clip for carrying objects such as a holster or other object on the belt of a wearer. The clip includes an elongated body of generally flat material such as sheet metal with an integral hinge pin socket at one end region and a pair of integral catches at the other end region. A resilient member such as a length of spring wire extends through the integral hinge and pivots into a spaced parallel relationship with the body and is secured by the integral catches. The resiliency of the spring wire allows reliable engagement with the catches. The body and the leg portions of the spring wire define a flat tunnel through the clip for receiving the wearer's belt. The integral hinge pin socket extends generally from side to side of the clip and thereby provides a stable support for any object carried. Inventors: Bianchi; John E. (100 Calle Cortez, Temecula, CA 92390) Appl. No.: 856794 Filed: April 25, 1986 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United States Patent 5,031,810 Finn , et al. July 16, 1991 Knife or bayonet scabbard Abstract An improved knife or bayonet scabbard of rigid material including a body and a clip. A swivel connection between the two allows limited rotation of the body with respect to the clip when the clip is extended for belt wearing. The body is restricted from rotation when the clip is realigned to an aligned position for inverted wearing as on the chest. The body includes an integral catch on one side of the blade receiving opening and an internal spring on the opposite side for biasing the blade of the knife toward the catch. An auxiliary flexible loop aids in holding the knife or bayonet in the scabbard. Inventors: Finn; Charles A. (Oceanside, CA); Olson; Douglas D. (Chino Valley, AZ) Assignee: Val National Corp., DBA Qual-A-Tec (China Valley, AZ) Appl. No.: 257410 Filed: October 13, 1988 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United States Patent D301,396 Finn June 6, 1989 Knife sheath Claims The ornamental design for a knife sheath, as shown and described. Inventors: Finn; Charles A. (2955 Cottingham St., Oceanside, CA 92054) Appl. No.: 766101 Filed: August 15, 1985 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- United States Patent 4,458,420 Davis July 10, 1984 Shear pin hilt for knife Abstract An impact-resistant knife hilt comprising a hollow handle containing a clevis with shear pin connecting the knife blade to a bolt passing through the end cap of the knife handle. Such a knife is readily assembled and disassembled by tightening or removing the bolt while the hilt with shear pin reduces the risk of blade breakage upon their impact. Inventors: Davis; Kurtis D. January 21, 1997 Bayonet system including bayonet with integral tang and scabbard with hand protection Abstract A bayonet system includes a bayonet and a scabbard in which the bayonet is received for storage. The bayonet is formed with an integral blade-and-tang unit. A plastic handle is molded over the tang, with a portion of the tang protruding from a butt end of the handle. A latch plate is attached to the butt end of the handle assembly by a radial rivet to the protruding portion of the tang. The latch plate includes a pair of retainer arms fixed to the latch plate with pins that can be driven out to effect removal of the release arms. The scabbard has a housing with an integral load assembly at its upper end, integral recessed tie-down loops adjacent to its lower end, and an integral hand guard extending from one side at a position intermediate the upper end and the lower end. m-9 who made this?
I purchased this m-9 but it has no manufacturer info but shows the following info on the bayonet. MK001304 and 12602. Does anybody have an Idea? I'm also looking for a replacement bayonet release lever and nut that holds it to the bayonet lug? Any help would be appreciated.

The bayonet you describe is a Chinese copy of the M9.
There is a seller by the name of unnaturalone on ebay who has all kinds of M9 parts. He will undoubtedly have what you're looking for. |
:smile:very good,thanks
