Handi Rifle
Assuming a 1:8 twist(or faster), and reasonable accuracy, the combination of a factory threaded, 16" barrel in an economical package would be a great move.
I think there is a huge need for this and would/will pick one up as soon as it's available. It would be an excellent and versatile youth rifle, brush gun, truck gun or pack rifle along with the option to suppress for additional fun. My SBR AR would still get plenty of use but if the price is right, and that is the key, I think it would make a great companion rifle for the AR. When will it be available and what will the MSRP be? I'd like mine by October. |
I'll buy one, for sure!
That would be perfect for my daughter:eek: I got her a 243 but she thinks it kicks a little to much.....now that I think about it..that was two years ago, might have to let her try it out again next month for deer season sight in time. But a Handi .300 BLK would be bad arse to have!:nanabang:
Been thinking about making my 30-30 TC into one. |
Any chance of that being an add on barrel in the future? Not all cans are threaded like AAC.
300 BLK Liberator
After seeing the Handi Rifle I want a 300 BLK Liberator pistol. I feel silly for spending so much money on a 300 BLK AR-15 and Rem 700. During WW2 these cost under $5. Someone could probably market it for around $200.

I always thought 5/8x24 was standard for .30 cal barrels:confused:
I was needing a 1/2 x 24 for my suppressor. Was hoping they would start fitting extra barrels for the 300 like the others they offer. At least I could get it threaded if its not melonited. If I have to get an adapter for the rifle, the TC barrel will be cheaper.
when are they going to be released and for how much?
In the $300 something range. It depends if we camo dip them, include rails, etc.
Robert, if I may suggest something. How about a break open buttstock that would hold 5 or so rounds. I'm thinking something like the old SnakeCharmer.
I say don't over complicate the first release; what you have right there with the synthetic stock is about as standard and inexpensive as you can get, which is what I think this should be. Get this version into the market and then work on the nice to have options later. If you just have to tinker with something you could increase the sight radius.
When can I buy that exact configuration? |
I agree - we should just do this configuration, as soon as possible.
If you increase the sight radius, you can't add a scope to it without the bell of the scope hitting the rear sight. |
Oh hell yea... When the camo version coming out?:nanabang:
I am really interested in the standard synthetic stock version you posted. I'd rather have my 8 year old son use that for deer this fall instead of the 223 I've set up for him.
Who will be distributing these initially, and how can I pre-order, or whatever I have to do to not get left out of the first run? |
I will take one as soon as they are available.
There are no preorders but I don't think you will miss out if you order when when we announce them.
I still have not seen one but should today or tomorrow. When I do, I will decide if it needs any changes. I have to make sure the sights can be signed in with typical ammo and things like that before I order production. So I will set the rear sight all the way high, shoot subsonic and supersonic, then all the way low, shoot subsonic and supersonic - and make sure it is a good range. |
Wish I had a job like yours....:uzi2: shooting all the time.
My advice: don't overcomplicate it. Keep it simple. People will customize how they want it anyway, why make it more $$ by camo coating or fancy stock.
Any updates on this going into production, and will replacement barrels be offered for those of us that already have a handi rifle?
It is expected to ship in March. No, there are no replacement barrels.
H&R says it ain't on the production schedule, no plan to make it is yet formal.
In short, make other arrangements. |

Not trying to start a fight. His post is actually one up from my last, and is from October of last year.
As I said, H&R say it isn't in the works, and AAC's post about the H&R AAC 300 on their site hasn't been updated since August 11th - where they did say they would let us know "if/when this happens." AAC is partnered with H&R for this, by their own admission, and H&R says it won't be here in March (2012.) H&R might be wrong, but I should think they would know if it were on the manufacturing schedule. I called AAC, they are shut down for SHOT. At the very latest, we'll know in March. |
March.
$359. Here is how it has evolved. Now it is phosphate rather than blued. It is no sights, and includes a 1913 scope rail. http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/6967/25166632.jpg |
It looked better the first time .. this just makes it look like you are trying to "cheapen it up" ...
The thread pitch isn't different, the threads just ahead of the barrel shoulder are not relieved. There is a goofy-ass shoulder there, and I think it's bad form to thread that way. Most suppressors, hell, even muzzlebrakes, need the relieved thread pattern.

Yes. The Handi Rifles will ship I think the end of this month.
I recommend getting one quickly - far more orders were placed by dealers than are being manufactured. I can't say when the next production run is. |
The Handis have started shipping, got mine a week or so ago. It should be on the range later today or tomorrow, with factory and hand loads, subs and supers.
