Phrobis Repair?

Hi All,

My first time posting, but I've been lurking off and on. I have a Phrobis III that has had a tiny bit (about 2mm) of the tip broken off. Will Phrobis or Buck repair/reshape the tip? I know plenty of knife makers who can do it, but I'd kind of like to have it done 'in house'. Any help would be great!

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forum. I hope you've been finding the information here helpful.

Phrobis III is no longer in business. As you have probably read elsewhere on the forum, Buck actually manufactured all of the Phrobis bayonets as a subcontractor. You can try contacting Buck to see if they will do it for you. I know when they were in California it was no problem to send one back to be sharpened. I don't know what their new set up in Idaho permits them to do.

Hi,

Thanks for the heads-up (and I guess I wasn't actually sure what the status of Phrobus was). I'll contact Buck as you suggest. I'll post regarding the outcome.

Regards,

Mark

Hi All,

Just received the Phrobis back from Buck. They re-ground and tip, refinished and sharpened the blade for $5. Did a hell of a job too. Thanks for the info, porterkids. :D
