Nope that's also on the list. And brass and I'll have to order in some selected bullets SMK 220 but I have been lookin for the barrel for several months - ACC Cyclone on order but that will take several more months so I have time.

Patience is your friend when you don't have large amounts of disposable income. ;)

What is an ACC Cyclone?

ER Shaw Barrel is here - 16 1/4 long 8.75 under handguards .75 stepdown for gas block in carbine position, step down to 7.25 until last 3/4 inch then step down to .700 until threaded for final .6 inch w/ 1/2x32 it appears.

How does the Cyclone mount to my weapon? Via muzzle threads.

Will the Cyclone work on my .300 Whisper? Yes.

What different threaded mounts are available 9/16-24TPI & 5/8-24 TPI. All barrels must have a minimum muzzle diameter of .600”.

Will the Cyclone affect the accuracy of my rifle?
Yes. The slight added weight of the Cyclone will assist in reducing barrel harmonics which can equate to a significant increase in accuracy with many host-weapons. There will be a point of impact shift between the rifle with and without the silencer, but it is a repeatable shift.

How do you clean the Cyclone?
The Cyclone can be cleaned through periodic immersion in a suitable solvent (IE. lacquer thinner).

How often do you clean the Cyclone? Every 2000-3000 rounds.

Can I shoot full auto through the Cyclone? Go ahead, you won’t hurt it.

Can I use the Cyclone on my belt fed?
Yes. Just check frequently that the silencer stays tightly threaded to the muzzle threads.

Can I shoot .223 through the Cyclone? No problem sound reduction but not as good as 30 caliber but you shouldn't need hearing protection.

Can the Cyclone be used wet?
The Cyclone can be used wet. However, when using a wet can on a gas operated weapon, the gas system will become fouled with sooty, wet material after repeated firing with water in the silencer.

Service Life? Unknown, as no one has worn one out at this time.

I figure the Whisper should be better as I doubt it's 156.8 unsuppressed.

Now waiting for the bizillon months for approval until my Cyclone gets here but that give time to assemble and test the upper without the can to see if it really does tighten groups like some have said and have repeatable Point of Impact shift.

Have you taken a look at the Leitner-Wise piston conversions? The L-W system is self regulating and it only takes a fraction of the gas that a direct impingement system does. Here's a link to a great explanation of how this system works: Link

Hey thanks for the link, I have not settled on which upper yet, tried to order a Adjustable gas tube from brownells but it was out of stock. So I will keep saving until either I can afford a piston or brownells gets me the cheap starter version. :D

Well I got a 6x20 42mm obj w/ target knobs and mil-dot but I'm not sure that will stay for the project - I tried on my AR w/ 223 and wasn't that happy with it there (used it for precision rifle class out to 300 yards). I'll keep playing with it until I get my Whisper AR built and try it again but I was looking at some of the other toys people had and may rethink - too many choices in life.

Problem I have is Bad/Old eyes and things that looked good way back then don't look as good now so I'm looking for all the cheatin I can find. And those red dot sights spoil you, I'm stating to think of those for everything from Air rifle up to Hand Cannons. :rolleyes:
