Anyone offering a 300-221 to AAC Blackout conversion service?

Just wondering if anyone out there with the skills to do it is planning on offering a conversion service once the PTG conversion reamer is available?

I'd buy the tool and have a local gunsmith do it, but I don't have one nearby that I trust to do it correctly.

There is a couple of us here that I am sure would do it. I will be converting an upper I have plus another one of my customers has. Also check with Spook he may be doing conversions. If you don't mind why don't we use this thread as a list of people doing the conversions.

I have a reamer on order and will do my Model1Sales upper myself.

I've got a conversion reamer on order. If all goes well with mine I'll offer up the conversion service.

Anyone thinking of doing this PLEASE check with your barrel manufacture first. Some of them are offering this service for FREE. Model 1 Sales is not one of them.

Mine is from J&T Distributing. I'll call them but I'd be surprised if they offer the service.

Listing people doing the conversions sounds like a great use for this thread!

Is this something you can do without a lathe if you are careful?

I think so. The reamer is piloted.

I talked to the PTG guys and they said reaming it by hand shouldn't be a problem since we're taking such a small amount of metal out of the chamber, but I do have a lathe if it turns out I need it.

Everyone, please report here on your results when you get your chamber reamed.

I plan to sell my reamer at a good discount when I'm finished with it unless there's anyone close to me in far eastern West Virginia that wants to stop by and have it done.

PM me if and when it is for sale. Would be very interested.

I'll do my customers barrels no charge.Contact me.Using the conversion reamer is easy by hand. Even the clean up with a full reamer takes a very light touch without need of a lathe.
