Congrats. At what distance did you get him? Where do you aim for a neck shot? I have never tried that shot before, seems too tricky, I try to go for the heart/lung shot. Any pointers. Nice trail cam pics too. Thanks for sharing data.

He was just under 50 yds. It is the first neck shot I have taken. I aimed center of the neck he moved his head down just a bit when I took the shot wich but the inpact a few inches below the base of the skull. He was standing like he is in the daytime game cam pic. It was right at dusk I had maybe 3 minutes of legal light left when I took the shot. But I was taking my time. I did a lot of testing at different ranges so I would know exactly where the round would impact. I have only killed 4 deer and the other 3 were lung shots. They only went less than 40 yds each before collapsing. But I had done a lot of research on neck shots and figured it would be a good idea. if you hit center of the neck your gonna hit something vital to their survival.
