Rifle length buttstock or carbine? What buffer?

It is all trial and error.

There is not one quick fix for it all.

What's your process for making the brass? I found that sizing from 223 to 300 in one step really stresses and cracks the brass. The brass may need to be annealed to keep it from cracking, be it longitudinally or circumferentially. I use a form and trim die from CH4D for making mine. As there is no expander mandrel to neck up the brass with this die, I have to run it over a full length die to get the dimensions correct before loading. I use WIN once-fired brass (so far), and I don't find it necessary to anneal, yet.

Were is your gas port drilled, pistol or carbine position?

markpurifoy 10-25-2010 11:28 AM

Unknown gas port. Waiting for model1 to call to answer that.

I run in my redding die the cut off at shoulder then trim to length. I trim to 1.355.

Carbine length stock.

Mark, open gas port to .120 or try AA1680 powder.
