I am looking for some interested moderators to help keep this board active... There is no pay associated as we are not making any money on this website... I just need some help keeping this board active as my work life has kept me too busy to keep things going...

If you are interested in helping, please post below or PM me... I need to know what forum(s) you are interested in helping with and if you have not been real active here please provide some links that demonstrate a history of you knowing your topic....

I am swamped with work and life right now but I would love the help keeping some of the forums active... I assume you are a machinist, right? What forums would you like to try to lead?

Well, here is my story...

I was frustrated with a job about a year and a half ago so I started my own Corp to try to make some stuff so I could quite my day job. Well, as luck turned out I found another job which is busier but with much better people so now some of the projects I started are not getting the attention they deserve.

One of these projects is/was http://www.lathetalk.com

That was a stand alone website with its own forums but I never had the time to promote the forums to get them to grow. Because of that I rolled those forums into here.

If you would like to run those forums I will be glad to give you full moderator powers over them so you can make them like your own. I will also add any new forums you would like.

Just say the word and I will set you up!

OK Ken count me in. Somedays i spend 6 hours on the computer, running my Yahoo groups and other welder-machinist forums. I can't quit my oil refinery job yet but i still play on the side. I work a 3 shift swing so i am at home almost anytime. Somedays i can get on at work to see whats going on. Thanks...Bob

My current job is Gov't Contractor software QA.

Starting my own homebuilt .50 project this winter.

I wouldnt mind helpping out. Dont know what I could help with, but I do work in sales, electronics, construction and just a basics jack of all trades, master of none. I have been in the retail part of gun sales since 1993 and do a little gunsmithing on the side but nothing seriouse. I spend a good part of my free time on the internet and chasing done good deals and selling on the net.
Not to toot my own horn:nanabang: I am just a hell of a nice guy and like to see people treated with respect,
So on that note if you can find something for me to do I would do it and with great pride

Thanks for bumping this thread back up... I need to set up some permissions in the new forum code and then I will try to let people lead some of the forums... If anybody has specific skills or interestes please let me know and I will get the permissions setup...

Given the site doesn't bring in any money I can't pay but you get to run your own forum...

Still looking for anybody that is interested. The only real need is for people that hang out here to close the spam/porn threads.

If you just need a bit of cleanup work such as that, I'll toss my hat in the ring.

Thanks for the offers guys! I need to look at the permissions and I will hook you up. Your powers will be limited to simply closing threads to start but I will give more power after a bit of time.

I am hands off here for the most part but the bots are getting better about getting around the blocks I put in place so I either need to recode things or beg for some helpers to just close the problem threads when they are spotted.

You will have new found powers! I try to allow this site to run on it's own but the spam bots are really a thorn! I will be working on improving the automated tools to block them but until then I welcome the extra help!

I think we will see how we make out for now. For Moderators we really want members that are somewhat active on the site. This shows an interest in what is going on here and it allows the staff a chance to see general personality. Going forward, all the current staff will vote on any new staff additions but we are always willing to have people offer to help!

If a an active person were to want to be a Moderator, we may always make exceptions!

QB - I'll be happy to throw my name in the ring for more moderators if needed!

Hi QB,

I have been a long time member here, starting with my building and experimenting with the 300 Whisper. This board has been a very good resource.

Now I am really into 0.25 bores with the 25-223Ar that I have developed, inaddition to the 25-06 that I shoot.

So if you need any more Mod's I would honored to be able to "Play it Forward" and be a Mod here.
