Tailstock ? about taper

Hi every one,
I am retired tool & die maker helping to get a small shop up and running.
best machine in shop is a ROCKLAND LATHE bout 19" swing & approx 6'
between centers ( mfg. about 1970 or so) it will cut american or metric thread
and the dials appear to be metric. This machine has been "rode hard and put away wet" , the tail stock seems to have a morse # 5 taper but none of
the centers or sleeves seem to fit properly. they are not a tight fit at the large end of taper, could this be a metric taper on this lathe. I think the previous owners were " ham & eaggers" as all equip. is in poor shape and
I can not tell if the accessories even go with this lathe.
Any info would be much appreciated,.
