I shot a 190lb buck at 80yds with the sierra 110 in the shoulder. It was a complete pass through. 19.6g W296. It had a 1.5 inch exit wound.

I wouldn't have thought that bullet would be suitable for such a task. It is interesting to hear that it does work well.

What kind of velocity is that load producing?

MAG 10-23-2010 05:14 PM

The Sierra Load data shows it at 2100 but that is with a 10in barrel. I have a 16.5in barrel with a 1-8 twist so I can only guess it is around 2300. I originally bought the 110's to fire form my brass. I would post alot of pictures but the attachment limit is so low the pictures look terrible. this is the first I have joined a forum but I like the 300 round so here I am.

Good to have 'ya here MAG...

I will have to try that load in my 10". I was even planning to go out and test tomorrow so I will have to run down to the loading bench and throw 5 of these together to try.

Glad to be here. No one ever puts this stuff but here ya go.
19.6 W296
C.O.A.L 1.975
REM 7 1/2 small rifle benchrest primer

Now I just have to figure out how to post pictures in a thread without using the attachment feature.

Its a new season and the Sierra 110 has proven its self once again. This deer was shot at 172yds with the same load as above. Shot in the right shoulder and exited behind the left leg.
