Ontario Knife Company "Operation Iraqi Freedom" Lt
With all the knives that I have manged to get added to the other sections of the website I am glad to finally add an Ontario Knife Company M9 Bayonet that is quite interesting. I found this on EBAY as seems to be the easiest place for me to watch and find M9s to add to the website (hint... I would love to see other people posting here sharing their own knives... did I say HINT.. HINT?)
Oh well, more monolog of me collecting photos of M9s... this is a commerative knife and it is listed on EBAY at the time of this posting: Here is a link to the auction Here is the description from the auction: Quote: You are bidding on one RARE brand new in the factory box with the blade having never been inserted into the scabbard USMC commemorative M9 bayonet. This is 1 of only 500 produced by the Ontario Knife Co. (OKC) to commemorate "OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM". This is a true collectors item as there were only 500 produced and are no longer available. High bidder to pay with a USPS money order, cashiers check or PayPal plus $12.50 USPS Priority Mail shipping. Please e-mail with any questions or for additional photos. Following are photos from the auction: http://www.m9bayonet.com//images/ont...c-usmc-01a.jpg http://www.m9bayonet.com//images/ont...c-usmc-01b.jpg http://www.m9bayonet.com//images/ont...c-usmc-01c.jpg |

Start of the bug
I got one of these shortly after getting my BCN commemerative M9 from the BCN network (with only 75 made is this the rarest M9 variation?). A very nice piece, there seems to be several other commemeratives to specific units as well. I ws suprised these were not more expensive, having got mine for not a lot more than an issue one woudl cost me in the UK

Nice blade, and nice pictures of the blade!

Jeez, I wonder how long before the Franklin Mint is going to offer their own version of a commemorative M9?

I purchased an Army and a USMC model in October 2003. They were $129 each. That price has seemed to hold steady on the retail market with ocassional better deals to be had on ebay.
Concerning redshank's comment on the Franklin Mint; they produced a Desert Storm M9 bayonet and commemorative plaque back in 1991. The American Historical Foundation had a DS commemorative the same year. One of these is up on ebay right now. http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/28D...spagenameZWDVW ________ CB900F |
