fourays2, did you send the jig?

I sent both of you an e-mail... I need to know where the jig is at along with any tracking information... Remember guys, you are responsible for the cost of my tools if you lose or dammage them ($150).

Since we live so close and he has no press he came over to my place and used the jig on Saturday. I had to leave so he stayed on at my place and bent flats. He was supposed to take the jig with him and send it on to the next guy in line, but he left the jig at my place. So I still have the jig and it's boxed up ready to go.
Quartbore, sorry I did not get your e-mail.

Regarding Cheapskate...

OK, so I supplied his name and address to the person before him that had the jig... They talk and decide to get together... you use MY JIG and TOOLS and then you have the guts to e-mail me demanding a refund....

I e-mailed you asking what gives as I thought you should have the jig and you indicated that you don't have my tools... refund your payment NOW...

Now, I hear you had used my tools to bend your flats... You did multiple flats and you are still demanding a refund for the use of MY TOOLS?

There is a PM on the forums at Quarterbore.net for you... The person before you is gone with the jig and it is being sent to you... Please let me know when you get it!

Ken
Then...

I got a Instant message Here on the forums on Mondy July 18th... I didn't save the PM and it seems to be lost but it said essentially I want a REFUND OF MY PAYPAL PAYMENT... So, I sent an E-mail as below... not the reply above my original e-mail...

Please excuse me as I use your forum handles as while I have your names at home I don't have them with me here at work...

Fourays,

You had requested the name and address of the next person to use the jig on Juy 5th and I had provided you with the name and address of Cheapskate on that same data... Did you send the jig? I need that tracking number! If you did not ship the jig, please DO NOT SHIP it until we can figure this out...

Cheapskate,

You just posted in the forums that you want a refund of your payment and off the list. As long as Fourays has not shipped the jig yet I can do that but I need to know where the jig is as if you have received the jig then obviously you spoke up too late... Do you have the jig?

I need to have an update from both of you as one of the two of you should have the jig or the jig was lost between the two of you. Foruays, as per the terms you were supposed to shp with a method that provided tracking and insurance, if the jig is lost you are responsible for the replacement costs of my tools ($150).

Ken
then...

As soon as I know where my tools are... I need to verify that they were not shipped to you and that you did not receive them... As soon as I know that I will refund your money and have the send the jig sent to someone else... If the jig is already on it's way to you, you have decided too late that you don't want to use it...

Ken,

I do not have your jig. I understand you may be concerned about where your property is, but lets not be mistaken that I am directly informing you that I DO NOT have, nor do I wish to recieve possession of it at this time.

It's been two weeks since I was told the jig was going to be shipped and going on 72 hours since I requested to be taken off the list. I'm willing to be reasonable, but it's pretty clear to me that I should be expecting my money or the jig shortly...either way is fine by me.

If I receive the jig postmarked as shipped on or before today, 07/19/2005 I will accept it and proceed with my end of the agreement and ship to the next user as a matter of honoring my committment to you and the fellow users down the line on the rental list.

What would you like me to do with the jig if it arrives with a postmark after today?

Let me know.

Thanks,

Patrick

I was told that you have already used the jig... I talked with fourays2 and he indicated that you contacted him and went to his house and used the jig there. he also indicated that you were supposed to take the jig and ship it to the next person but you had left the jig there instead.

Are you indicating this is not correct?

Alex, am I saying anything that is not correct?

Is there some type of miscommunication here?

Patrick,

you were over at my house on saturday july 16th and you used the jig. You were supposed to show up at 8.30-9.00am, but you didn't get to my house until 11.00am. I let you use my press even though I had to leave. my wife tells me you left my house at about 2.00pm.I told you to take the jig with you when you left and send it on to the next person.
just to clarify matters I'll forward on Patricks e-mails to me arranging Saturdays meeting.

Alex

Hi,

I just noticed that you are listed as being in Phoenix. I'm in Litchfield Park, just West of Glendale. I'm also next on the list for the flat bending jig.

Is there any chance you and I could meet up and bend our flats? I don't have a press, but had planned on buying one specifically to do my builds...if we could meet up at your place to bend the flats it would save you the hassle of shipping to the next guy (me) and will save me the cash on a press that I'll never use again anyway.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in doing (really just helping me out), please let me know.

My phone is; 623-XXX-XXXX

Thanks,

Patrick

HI Alex,

Early Saturday morning is perfect. My wife is having a 'stamping party' at her friends house just North of the 101 at 8:15, so I'll be in the area around 8:30...something like between 8:30 and 9:00 sound good?

I remember you're off the 101 and near Bell Rd up by Harbor Freight, but I'll need your actual address again. Just email the address and I'll get a map through Yahoo.

Hope the mouth isn't giving you too much trouble. See you in the AM.

Thanks,

Patrick

Alex,

Sorry I missed you last weekend. My son deleted the file with your address info and I didn't have a number for you.

Anyway, if we can get together during the week, maybe after work or early this weekend...it would be great.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Patrick

The Jigs Are No Longer Available For Rent After Those That Signed Up Are Done....

The_Whole_Truth 07-20-2005 07:03 AM

$20 rental fee paid on 06/17/2005 via Paypal.

On 07/05 I was informed that the rental item (the jig) would be shipped.

After two weeks and no jig, I contacted the person who had it and worked out a separate arrangement where I would come to his house and use the jig, and then we would simply ship it on to the next person on the rental list. I went to fourays house and bent up three flats. I had agreed to his proposal of $6.66 in a simple three way split of his rental expenses, since he and another friend had used the jig to press up several flats too. I also agreed to ship the jig to the next guy on the list.

I had put a $20 bill on Alex’s workbench to kick in for what I figured to be WELL MORE THAN MY SHARE and was wiping down the jig to pack it up when fourays wife came out into the garage to offer some water (it was a very hot Phoenix afternoon). When she saw the money she immediately said I did not need to pay. She further told me that fourays had planned on purchasing the jig. At that point, I offered the $20 to her to give to Alex for letting me use his press and being so accommodating. She declined that offer too, and said to consider it a favor, that one day he might need one from me. I thought that was really cool and stopped trying to give her the money. I did not take possession of the jig as planned, not because I just left it to stiff Alex for the shipping, but because I was under the direct impression that the jig was spoken for as a direct result of our conversation.

Considering my deal was with fourays and that I thought he was buying the jig outright, I posted that I wanted off the list and a refund. My thought was that this would free the second jig up for the next guy in line while Quarterbore had another jig made up to replace the one I THOUGHT WAS SOLD. Why in the hell would I want to rent the replacement jig when I’d already used the one I was supposed to be renting but was now (I thought) SOLD???!!!

The next thing I know is Quarterbore’s insisting that I wait for my refund until he can figure out where his jig is. I would certainly not discuss or commit to the purchase of the jig on Alex’s behalf and had no desire to become involved in whatever was going on between them, so I simply stuck to THE TRUTH. I told Ken that I did not have his jig and that I did not want to rent it anymore. I still do not see how that is in any way inappropriate.

I’ve got nothing to hide and have not lied once to you Ken. Not once.

You’ve now posted my name and address on this website, along with some bullshit comments including "LYING SCUMBAG", "ASSCLOWN" and "IDIOT". I think that you over-reacted and posted this BS before knowing the whole story. Out of respect for you, I sincerely hope that is the case.

If I owe you an apology please consider it rendered. I leave your next comments to your own sense of justice and integrity. It's been true enough in the past, I'll respect your response to do the right thing on that merit alone.

Respectfully,

Cheapskate :bangin:

Quarterbore 07-20-2005 07:51 AM

Either way, you lied to me... You are not welcome here... I will remove your contact info above but beyond that I do not owe you a thing... anybody is welcome to draw their own oppinions based on what I posted above...

Banned Again! Bye Bye!

Wow, this sounds like a really big miscommunication!!! I thought I read that it was only 50 cents per flat if you rented the jig for a build party? If Cheapskate was never mailed the jig and never took possesion of it, it sounds as if he simply attended a build party. The terms on the rental agreement are quite flimsy, on one hand Cheapskate never possessed the jig, but on the other he did pay to rent it. Quarterbore did say that it would only be 50 cents per flat bent over 5 at a jig party, does this not apply if someone who paid to rent the jig next shows up?

If I paid to rent a car for the weekend but found out my buddy allready rented a car from the same place and lets me use it, I would definately want my money back from the car rental place because I never took possession of the car... there was no rental.

Quarterbore, I believe you are getting confused about the fact that you made a sale, but the customer found out how to accoplish his goals in a different way. I don't see any 'rental' to Cheapskate, I just see him attending a build party. You should give him his cash back, and take down that "Lying Scumbag" note... you might have acted to hastily.

BTW - I don't need to rent your jig anymore, I have purchased one of mine own so I'm good. Still want to say 'Thanks' for offering your tools for everyone to use though, too bad you have to stop.
