M9 Phrobis ... ERROR STAMP
5 Attachment(s)
First made ... before the 1034 ...or after the 1034 ! .... That is the question :cool:

Very nice Mr. Moon. I have a piece that is very similar. The stamp on mine is a little higher on the blade and you can see about one half of the third line. The rest is covered by the crossguard. I think these blades may have been used to set up the press. These blades were the first ones through and they had to adjust the blade location to get the stamp in the correct location.
I have some photos somewhere. I'll post them when I find them. |
... Thanx Master Bill .. I would like to see your M9 photos too ..
So , there was probably just a few of these ... i suppose ....... |

I found the photos I had taken of my chevron. I think this bayonet was probably stamped right after Mr. Moon's. I wonder how many they stamped before getting it right?

Nice find Fabrizio! :nanabang::nanabang::nanabang::nanabang:
I have seen the auction you won and the final price was not very high. Good for you! :wink::wink::wink: If I remember correctly the auction description said something about the bayonet being wired to the plaque. I would suggest you, for a perfect display, to find a better way to attach the bayonet. Find a rifle, cut the end of the barrel .... et voilą! |
