300 whisper and Trail Boss
 

Does anyone have a workable load using TB. for the 300 whisper. Im sure I read somewhere that it should work ok. All I can find is for .308.

A friend of mine has shot this tuesday with his 300.whisper-Contender (i don't know his barrel lenght, but it's under 16", due swiss legislation don't know this restriction, maybe is 10") and TrailBoss-charge. It was the quietest load i ever heard (the silencer he used was not a cutting edge product!, so with a better performing silencer that can be quieter) and at 25meters distance 5 shoot in 1 hole!!!

I will try TrailBoss for my 7,62x39russian subsonic loads, but i don't know powder charge to make my bulgarian AKM-47 cycling with 180grs.???

Trailboss was intended for cast bullet loads in cowboy action shooting. My experiance with it, with cast lead bullets in the 180-200 gr. and a 300 whisper case nearly full of Trailboss yielded only 850-900 fps. A jacketed bullet may get stuck in the barrel. So be carefull. I have a post in the "CAST" thread by redneckdan if you are interested.

I tried a case full in my AR15, and wouldn't send the bolt back far enough, my rifle is pistol gas tube, functions well on everything else. Trail boss is a good powder, but not for Ar15s if you want it to operate. My 2cents worth
