Dremeling a standard AR15 carrier.

If I want to Dremel out a standard AR15 bolt carrier to an SP1 style, do I pretty much just have to square the back off and get rid of the angled section too?

Ken -

Here's how I did mine for a RLL - the underside slot with a regular-radius'd BC may pinch the paddle, and it may scrape. Mine did. Until I sharpened up the radius to more of a 90' back surface. It gave the underside (hammer slot in the BC) more WIDTH so the RLL Paddle wouldn't get pinched. I think I did it on a grinder. Not the neatest grinding job. The inside edges could be widened and smoothed out, but it works fine. Grinding it back will also slow your ROF, but don't grind too far or you'll ruin your BC and RLL won't work

Now it runs every time, with home-brewed select-fire utilizing 3RB kit. This is a standard DPMS semi BC. You can also see the lug has been ground 'up' a bit (Kittykat upper) so the RLL had clearance to slide. This installation is in a Stag lower

Hope that helps
