The Phrobis M9 did not come with any item in the cloth pouch. The pouch was simply designed to use as a utility pouch for whatever the soldier or marine wanted. Sometimes the pouch is seen with the military stainless utility pocket knife.

The pouch will accommodate a M9 Beretta magazine which is a snug fit. The single nylon pouches specifically made for the magazine, with either ALICE metal belt clips or Molle suspensions, are have a bit more room in them. As said, more often than not, the pouch was utilized for things like either a pocket knife, multi-tool, or fire-starter; probably the latter being the most useful in the field.
