My guess is you were looking at a forum that did not accept new threads. Following is a general forum for Metal Lathes:

Near the top you should see a button that says http://www.quarterbore.net/forums/im.../newthread.gif

Now, if you don't allow images when you browse the web that could be an issue.

If anyone else does not see links to start new threads, please let me know and I will set up a test account to figure out what happened.
