Another Early Buck-184 Buckmaster with compass in pommel

Here is what I believe to be another of the very early Buckmaster knives with the compass in the pommel. Note that the extra pouch and knife are not original but the Buckmaster itself is in really great shape!

Here the knife is On EBAY!!!
Edit: Knife sold for $212.50 - Note I bought this one!

Description of the knife from the auction:

HERE FOR BID IS AN AWESOME BUCKMASTER 184 IN EXCELLENT, BARELY USED CONDITION. HAS A FEW LIGHT MARKS ON THE BLADE. LOOKS LIKE IT MAY HAVE BEEN SHARPENED. STILL VERY NICE THOUGH! COMES IN THE ORIGINAL SHEATH WITH SHARPENING STONE, DAGGER TIPS, POMMEL COMPASS AND ANOTHER BUCK KNIFE IN THE POUCH. IT IS A BUCK 450 C AND LOOKS UNUSED. I THINK THE XTRA KNIFE IS AN ADDED AFTERMARKET ITEM. EVERYTHING COMES IN THE ORIGINAL BOX WITH PAPERS AND WARRANTEE.

Hy quarterbore,
I have seen your "new" buckmaster. Are you willing to sell it again ?

Buckmaster with compass

I bought my first Buckmaster long before I knew about all of the variations. I just thought it looked neat and I loved the small compass in the handle. It had the two small sheaths and the Silva compass also, which I thought was redundant. I learned that Buck sold an optional larger sheath and purchased one of them so I could put a folding knife in it and attach it to the sheath, as I had done with an early Kershaw survial knife I also own. Never really needed to survive, just thought all "survival knives" were cool. Also bought a Gerber BMF (use you imagination, as I never thought "Basic Multifunction Knife" was the truely intended name - only more acceptable in the marketplace!)

Anyway, pardon my tangential thought processes, to get back to the subject, the Buckmaster, and the attached sheath and Buck light weight folder got usurped in a divorce about thirteen years ago, along with the original box. I would swear I just saw it in the posting above.

To echo Andreas, could this be for sale at the right price? Write me at MarkGBell@sbcglobal.net.

Mark
