I think I have finally got a Narrow Font 4th Gen Phrobis M9!

I have been watching for one of these for over a year and either the photos were not good enough for me to tell or I just have not been watching the right time but I was using the ebay links off M9Bayonet.com and I found this baby listed:

USGI M9 M-9 Army issue Buck bayonet

Well, looking at the following image in this auction I believe this to be a Narrow Font 4th Generation Phrobis. One of the last Phrobis M9s I needed for my collection :nanabang:

You can compare the photos to my Wide Font 4th Generation Phrobis in the following photo or on the photoserver here

I hope I am right on this one but if I am wrong I will know as soon as I have the bayonets beside each other.

Look at the alignment of the "A" in USA; in the top photo it's aligned with the "I" in PHROBIS. In the lower photo it's aligned with the "S" in PHROBIS. The one you just bought is definitely a narrow font.

Guess that only leaves an un-numbered Chevron that you need, eh? (And a Phrobis XM9)

Yea, I am down to the impossible to find... The 1st Gen Chevron Phrobis as well as the 1993 Buck USMC plus the shallow fuller LanCay

I am sure there are a few others I am missing as I think there is still one or two USGI variants of the LanCay that I need but they don't make them real easy to figure out when you have them all!

As for the prototypes, as well as most of the knives I still need, I have a modest budget for my Bayonet collection as I just have too many bad spending habbits!

I thought I found another narrow font M9, but it looks more like it may be a third style marking. The "U.S.A." stamping is closer than on the standard blade, but the "PAT. PEND." is more spread out than the narrow font. If you consider that they made close to 300,000 of the fourth generation bayonets, they had to have gone through a number of dies. There could be a slight difference in each one that they used I suppose.

I think I may have a narrow font m9, according to what i've heard in this thread.
