Motor makes noise, does not spin
 

Makes noise when I turn the switch, but it doesn't spin. I can spin the pullies by hand with no trouble. I researched the belt tightness and there is approx. 1/2" of travel when I press on the middle of the belt. Help, I want to turn my first piece since highschool :)

See if the motor runs without the belt. If not the motor prob is bad or has a bad spot in it...Bob

It is a single phase motor right???Bob
