For the Gentlemen of Quarterbore: Here is classic portrait which displays combat between William Washington and British commander Banastre Tarleton at the Battle of Cowpens (American Revolution). During such event, Washington's sword broke just near the hilt---U.S. Patent 4,458,420 offers solution to such problem. The M-9 bayonet was born of this reality.
More information is available at www.kurtisddavis, under menu option "Discussion-Patented Concept".

For the Gentlemen of Quarterbore: This photo portrays George C. Davis practicing with an M-1 rifle bayonet, while stationed on the Korean countryside, August 1950. This man crafted the original prototype for U.S. Patent 4,458,420---the M-9 baynet was born of this reality.
Davis fought with the U.S. Army 24th Infantry Division, 21st Regiment, 3rd Battalion, from July 1950-July1951.
This original prototype is displayed at www.kurtisddavis.com ( select menu option "Background of the Invention"---go to bottom of page).

Regardless of their use with subsonic loads for the .300 Whisper, both of these are likely good choices for 7.62x39 loads in the Ruger Mini-30.
