well where to start the 300 whisper is a great round in the ar 15 here is the phone number of a good gunsmith who makes 300/221 1 803-475-7542 he will set you up with a good barreled upper at 1/3 of the cost of a ssk upper the .510 whisper is a monster of a round not near as useful as the 300 whisper

SpecOps, you have come to the right place to become educated on the 300 whisper. Although this chambering is not a household word, I think you will find it to be one of the most interesting rounds you can find. Anything from ARs (semi and full auto) to bolt guns to pistol length guns have been sucessfully chambered and are available. Subsonic for suppression and supersonic loadings are being developed and tested all the time. Many of which have been discussed in these forums. The versatility of being able to handle bullet weights from 125 gr to 240 gr extremely well is one of the reasons this cartrige if one of the fastest growing in terms of popularity in the shooting world.
I would first suggest that you read the many postings on this board and I think many of your questions will be answered. Of course, this will also raise some new questions as you go.
There are many knowledgeable whisperers that frequent this site, and I have found them to be very helpful to anyone that is in need of information or assistance.
Welcome, I am sure you will find what you are looking for in a rifle that will fit your needs, and one that will become one of your favorites to shoot.
