I have two 4th Generation Phrobis IIIs and this morning I decided that I was going to take one to the gun show to sell or trade it. In that course I started to examin both to see which one was in better condition to keep and I noticed that the U.S.A. Pat. Pend. was smaller on one than the other. It seems that somewhere along the line I might have read that either the large font U.S.A Pat. Pend. is more rarer than the smaller font or the other way around. Would anyone know which is more rarer and why would one lettering be smaller/larger than the other? TIA

I assume your small font is the "narrow" font shown here:

I need one of those M9s for my collection!

I think the wide is far more common then the narrow!

Sir,
Yes, it is the 'narrow' font. I bought it on ebay about a month ago for, I believe, $125. I didn't buy it because I thought it was a narrow font though. In fact it was just listed as a used Phrobis III bayonet. I suppose if there are two different versions of the 4th generation, I'll just keep both of them. Thanks for the pictures.
