H110 can be terribly temp sensitive but this time of year should be good; careful using these same rounds come summer!

I agree with N310,
I have reloaded and shot the 300 -221 from a custom bolt setup for the past 3 or 4 years and have found H110 too erratic for my needs. I pretty much have gone to Lil'Gun for my subsonic needs.

Now, this is what MY gun likes, YMMV,
I have found that 8.8gr LilGun under a 308 Lehigh/20gr. Berger .17, CCI small rifle primer and trimmed 221 brass produces just about 1060fps all day long, no more bouncing up above speed of sound as temps climb or barrel heats up and transfers to round sitting in chamber for a few extra minutes.

H110 is also positionally sensitive, so be sure the powder is all at the bottom of the case (or close) when you ignite it.

I used H110 for about 6 months before scrapping it, too many problems.

Aa#9 is my go to for subs, h110 is erratic on subs but never used it on supersonics.

I shoot H110 for supersonics 125 gr Nos BT's. Never had any accuracy issues shooting from 26 inch shilen encore barrel JD Jones made for me. Subsonics I shoot Vt N110 and 220 Sierras, 225 outlaw state, and 220 outlaw states. No problems with accuracy here either. I never tried H110 for the heavy stuff.

JD Jones will tell you H110 is the go to powder for the 300. I've had good luck with it. The sub loads are an exercise in consistent reloading practices. Such a little charge means minor variations can have big consequences in velocity and tragectory.

JD told me the best way is to use a Dillon progressive. Combine 10 consecutive powder charges and weigh. Divide that number by ten, and that is your actual charge, with on extra digit of accuracy. In his opinion, there is less variation in the Dillon measure using H110 than the average guy can measure on a reloading scale because the powder charge is so small.

Right, wrong, or indifferent, I run it his way. It works.

2063 FPS out of a Delta Company Arms 300 BLK 9" barrel, 1/8 twist.

17grs of H110 should be a fine starting point. I need to chronograph these out of my 16" barrel as well. My 16" 300BLK has a CMMG barrel with carbine gas. I've shot a few from it but not yet chronographed them. Need to do it when the weather warms up a little. No problems out of the 16".
