I do most of my huntin in swampy river bottoms and the woods in general are thick as shit most places in SC. 99% of my shots are less than 30yds, alota times its more like 30ft so I dont have a problem blastin through the brush. BUT I'm used to using 180gr silvertips in an 30-06. Im guessing the subs(240 Outlaw, AR15) should be treated more like an arrow? There are alot of shots that I wiil take w/my rifle that I won't take w/my crossbow, and range is almost never the issue. what yall think?

30-90 feet? You will be fine.
Like Spook says, pull the trigger.

Put up some targets and shoot them though brush. See what it does. You really need to know what it can do to hunting shots before you hunt. Subsonics aren't likely to blow up but they can be deflected. . Where I live manazanita bushes can deflect bullets a lot.

I would think your 30-06 would deflect just as much as a subsonic. Dude, pull the trigger.
