Is it safe to shoot a T1 steel pepper popper at 100 yards with a .308 220 gr SMK launched subsonic from a 300 BLK?

Thought I'd ask before I try it :D

I shoot steel all the time @ 100 yards.(subs and supers) SMKs leave a nice little star made of copper on the ground in front of the target

I shoot AR500 targets at 100 yards without a problem, but I'm not sure about T1 though. It might make a nice round hole.

Mild steel will hold up to subs, but not supers @ 100 yds. Mild steel will also hold up to a full power 308 past 500 yds.

Good info, thank you.
