I am looking for load data using 125gr bullets that function in a 16" 1x8 twist AR. I have tried blue dot but its to fast and won't cycle, 1680 works but I like it for heavy bullets. I don't like H-110/W296 so.... if you have any load data or powder recommendation for 125 gr loads let me know......THANKS>:uzi2:

H110 Works great for me and 125 and 150 gr Nos ballistic tips. I hear lots about verticle stringing and this and that, I just never experienced any problems. I also use Vit. N110, never have any problems with it either. I am in Uruguay right now and load book is in VA so exact weights, I can't help you with. Good luck.

Never tried the Vit powders but I am thinking I might try Vit 110 or 120...Anyone like these powders? I had a bad experiance with H110 so it's not an option... thanks for the reply.

Hi Jay,

I know that H110 and W296 are supposed to be the "same" but that is not my experience. In all of my rifles W296 shoots very well while H110 does not. I get tight groups and very consistent velocity variations. I have posted all of my loads here:

(Standard disclaimer: use at your owne risk and work up slowly)

You can also try Hodgdon LilGun. But I have had better results with W296.

H110 and 296 are absolutely the same. Exactly the the same, except for lot to lot variation.

Like I said:

I tried about 3-4 different lots of H110 (before I gave up on H110) and at least 9-10 different lots of W296. I have found that there is a lot less variation between lots of W296 than H110.

I have also had very good results with AA#9.

Take a walk on the wild side and use Alliant Power Pro 300MP. As far as I know I'm the only one who has experimented with. It is similar to H110 so work your way up accordingly. I'm getting 2200 fps out of a 10" with 110 V-maxs. I've went up to 2250 fps, but it was a stout load. I like it enough that I ordered 8 lbs, YMMV.

300 MP may just turn out to be the answer.

Robert, it's like it was designed for this cartridge, have you tried any yet?
