the problem with e bay and other sites is the seller may have gotten a bid on the knife and had a (friend) bid higher so to raise the price, sometimes when the bidding gets high someone will think it's highly collectable and keep bidding..this sort of thing happened on gunscanada all the time before it crashed

Wondered that myself. Has the same idea that someone was working together on it. Wonder if ebay has some sort of checks for that.

I'd stay far away from this auction. Too many things shouting SCAM. First, you have a seller who has been a member of ebay since 2001 and has a "0" feedback rating. Next, check the feedback on the two top bidders and see what they have purchased in the past. Neither of them have any history of purchasing knives. Two guys who are obviously uneducated when it comes to Buckmasters are bidding up to $500 on a $200 knife? Don't think so. I bet this auction gets canceled before it closes. I may be wrong, and if I am I feel sorry for the poor SOB who wins this one.

Several years ago I uncovered a seller/bidder combination on ebay that was running a shill bidding scam. I followed it for about a month. There was no doubt about it. I reported it to ebay with all of the supporting information and auction numbers. They told me that I did not present sufficient evidence for them to take action. About the only thing missing was a sworn statement from the guilty party. Ebay claims to be on top of it, but they really couldn't care less. But try to not pay your final auction fee and see what happens!

There is no doubt that ebay is a dangerous place for the uninformed. I know several tinmes people have been skinned in their innocence.
