I was looking at ammo at Aim Surplus and the 8mm Kurz got me wondering.
From Cartriges of the World: 7.92x33, Bullet weight/ 8.1 g (125 gr) type Ball, Velocity Energy 685 m/s (2,250 ft/s) 1,909 J (1,408 ft·lbf).
So the round the that the first true assualt rifle, the Sturmgewehr Stg44, issued in 1944 has remarkably similar ballistics. History repeats itself again?
