My AR .300 Whisper needs to go.I'd like to build one on a Rem. 700 ( I think ), a bolt action anyway. Where can I get a good barrrel chambered in .300 Whisper? It doesn't have to be a bench rest grade set up, but something pretty good.
Thanks

Spook in 3....2....1....
There a a few members here that can help you. Out of curiosity, what have you tried and what is your gun doing?

what problems are you having in the AR system?
member Spook here does good work as does tp555.
a thread or two down addresses issues with the Remington action. I would suggest getting a HOWA or a Savage and talk to Spook! He's a hell of a nice guy and won't sell you something you don't want or need.

I just sent a e-mail to Spook. Basically, I get horrible groups, 4-8 in. I've tried everything from 168 gr hpbt molys to 240 gr smk's. Subsonic and supersonic. With and without the can. Dirty gun, and more recently after cleanning 10 time, with everything I have, Butch's, Isso, Shooters Choice, brushes and patches. I've taken it back to the gunsmith who built it, and he can't figure it out. I tried a new RRA mount today and still bad groups.
I can shoot 1/2 in groups at 300 yards with my .308, and one hole groups with my .223, so I don't think it's me.

CZ bolt action makes a good platform for a 300 whisper. The 223 clip can be a little finicky until its tweaked. The gunsmith can do that for you. A buddy had the maestro JD Jones at SSK build his and a suppressor to boot.
