I have a Lan-Cay Bayonet that has Phrobis Scabbard with a 94 date.

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but you never know. Is it possible, this would have came like this...... I think mine is second contract, and the 94 date is close, but I don't see anything that says Every Bayonet brand came with the same Brand Scabbard.

I know, probably a stupid question, but I had to ask.

I was reading this thread and my Bayo is almost the same or is the same. If these are the only scabbards then mine is definatly not right.

Also is there some site that describes the hollow vs flat grinds. Just trying to figure this thing out.

Thanks.

Hello!
Why don't you post pictures of your bayonet and scabbard?
When you say "Phrobis scabbard", do you mean that your scabbard actually has the Phrobis logo on it (in the shape of a dolphin), under the sharpening stone?
That would not be correct with a Lan-Cay bayonet.
Instead, if you were referring to a LanCay (so marked) scabbard with four slots (similar to the Phrobis one), I think the only correct bayonet would be marked as LanCay (without the "-" in the name), with a bright blade.
Hope I'm correct.

Take a look at this topic, hope this helps.

I'll post some pictures of everything tonight if I get a chance.

Yes the Scabbard has the Phrobis Dolphin Logo. As I figured the Scabbard was wrong. I wasn't sure if one company was contracted to make scabbards and another to make Knifes.

My Bayo Has the Lan-Cay (so marked) with a black blade and no blood groove.

Thanks for the Link it is very helpfull, I'll have to look again but I think it has a flat grind..

Thanks
