There is probably info someplace here, but a search of "Hornady FTX" says the "FTX" is too short a word.

I got a box of the 160 grain FTX from Midway a while back. Apparently there are two -- one for the 30-30 velocities and one for .308 Marlin Express velocities. Logically, we'd be interested in the first one.

Anybody try these yet? Seems like they'd work pretty well at supersonic velocities for deer.

Besides having a soft point for leverguns (which we don't need), the point is supposed to aid in expansion, like the SST.

I have used the 160 gr FTX from Midway in my AR whisper loaded st Supersonic vel. and found them to be pretty accurate....I also loaded some with the Subsonic data from SSK page and allthough they did not function My AR when I was using them they shot very well.....Good luck

Why not just go with 30-30 soft points and FNs? Been killing deer in 30-30s for quite some time now. Reliability in feeding in ARs? Just want to try something new? Just curious.

Research and trying stuff is what it's all about! If somebody didn't screw around, we'd all still be shooting 45-70's !

So did you ever get around to doing any testing with these projectiles? They seem as though they would function in an AR and possibly expand at low velocity.
