Key Hole strikes??

I'm shooting a 16" 1x8" schillen barrel it shoots great with 125gr. 130gr. 180&190gr. 220gr smk's work great......I loaded some 200 gr nosler BT over 12gr 1680 They keyhole like crazy at 100yds.....? WTF have any of you ever had this happen? I mean it works with lighter and heavier bullets. but sure not with these.

First double check your loads. Make sure they are right. If they are right it is probably a case of your barrel just doesn't like those bullets. I see it quite often with different calibers and no one can explain why it happens it just does. You can try a different 200 grain bullet and see if they fly straight, if they do you know the 200 gr. Ballistic Tips and your barrel don't like each other.

Thanks I was just baffled that it fired the 220smk so well but did not stabilize the 200 NBT......I'll keep experimenting:grin:
